Makoto is a fully-qualified Senior Accountant, holding over 15 years’ experience within Public Practice.
Joining the firm in 2015, Makoto has actively supported on-going taxation and compliance matters for clients across a depth of industries and sizes. Throughout her career, Makoto has held a strong interest in partnering with the Medical industry, assisting General Practitioners, Specialist Doctors, and Medical clinics to manage their financial obligations and business affairs.
In doing so, Makoto has developed a value-add understanding of Management Accounting services for Specialist Medical clinics. Her experience in formulating the preparation of the quarterly performance & KPI reports for Managing Directors and Practice Principals, has helped clients to gain a true understanding of their practices and overall clinic operations.
Alongside this, Makoto has serviced clients within the Building & Construction industry, helping manage QBCC licensing obligations and assisting with meeting minimum financial requirements. Her time in accounting has provided exposure to auditing for Strata & Body Corporates, Retail Shop Leases, Schools and Not-for-Profit entities.
Achieving her Chartered Accountant qualifications in 2007, Makoto assists in mentoring junior staff through the program – providing real-world understanding of its application, in-depth training and support for professional development.
In addition to her CA qualifications, Makoto is a certified Xero advisor, assisting clients in the transition to the cloud-based platform and achieving best practice results.
Outside of the office, Makoto enjoys spending time with her young family – teaching her children Japanese as a native speaker.
